Hollow Multicore POF

Hollow multicore POF is offered in both concentric and eccentric configurations. It is a single optical fiber with many cores and has a hollow inner region. The concentric hollow multicore POF allows for an imaging fiber (plastic or glass) to be inserted into the hollow part of the fiber and be used as a light guide. The hollow multi-core POF is able to provide users with clear and uniform light distribution, flexibility, and minimal bending sensitivity.

The eccentric hollow multicore POF has the advantage of being able to be easily torn lengthwise, allowing easy insertion of an image guide through the side rather than the fiber end.
Both the concentric and eccentric hollow multicore POF can be easily combined with Berkshire Photonic’s product line of plastic imaging fibers to be used as a light guide for endoscopes.
